Default Looking for a breakdown of motor..

Well, ive searched and search and havent found anything that im looking for to help me with my build.
Basically i need a diagram or parts list, of rebuilding the entire block. i want to make a list of parts that ill need to replace, ie, rod bearings, main bearings, etc, etc. I'll be goin with the Wiseco pistons 81.5mm overbore, and basically i want to replace everything else with honda factory parts consisting in the block.
i just want to see a list so i dont end up missing anything that i should change.

thanks!

That's a JDM valve cover. Notice how the DOHC is small and VTEC is large. The USDM valve cover has it opposite. Also, as you have already noticed, the JDM just has the Honda logo whereas the USDM says Honda Motor Co.

European valve covers are also like that, so it's not a JDM only thing.

Depends on your budget, but if you want a set of lightweight NA rods, Cunningham Ultralite, Crower Maxilight and Carillo Pro-A are all very nice lightweight rods. Expect to pay around $700 for a set. These will all be a good bit lighter than OEM, Carillo A-beam I believe is the lighest at 411gram, compared to ~520gram for a OEM rod.

I only mentioned USDM and JDM since those were to two I was sure of. I could only guess how the CDM and EDM covers looked and I didn't want to make assumptions.

That's correct, because in every other market the ITR was badged as a Honda.

Well ive decided to go with the carrillo rods and m77 bearings along with the wiseco pistons. But looking at the part # for the carrillo rods...theres a couple options for the b18c motor:

AA-VTC<A-55433
AA-VTC>-65433S
AA-VTC>-65433H

can anybody tell me the difference between these, and which one should i get ordered?

unless you're building the motor yourself, consult with engine builder on whats best and needed for this build

Agreed! If you're looking for a great engine builder, go see Gord Bush Performance in Toronto. He is an incredibly meticulous motor builder - money well spent.

i have a good local builder here doing all my work. But just for my knowledge, doesnt all the parts have to be balanced before install, or something like that, or once everything is installed with crankshaft too. i can ask my builder but id rather get the info from u guys first and then see what he says too.

A good builder will answer all your questions to your satisfaction. Not discount some members' knowledge of rebuilds, but reputable engine builders are experts and will tell you everything you need to know, in advance.

Good luck with the build!

The only item that needs to be balanced is the crank, and really only if you are getting work done on it. Since you are not using OE rods or pistons, most aftermarket manufacturers will only sell sets that are within a certain range of eachother.

If you are using your stock crank, you can get the bearing info off your block for the main bearings. Since you are using aftermarket rods, you will need to use plastigauge and check the clearances on your rods, or use ACL's which are one size fit all.

Carrillo Rods has 3 options for rod choices.

We're a Carrillo Rod authorized dealer and we get this misinformation all the time. Most people dont know that there are several choices to pick from.

Pro-A all motor lightweight application with 5/16 WMC rod bolts
Pro-SA medium duty with 3/8 WMC bolts
Pro-H heavy duty with 3/8 WMC bolts(for setups not planning to take apart motor often)
Pro-H heavy duty with 3/8 CARR bolts(best rod bolts in the business, minimal rod stretch, can take apart rod bolts/caps and can reuse many times)

any other questions feel free to PM me.
