My EMS just stopped working. I'm the second owner of the unit so I'm not sure how the warranty, if any, rolls over. I just wanted know if anyone had AEM repair their EMS unit? In a worst case scenario how much does AEM charge to replace the internals? AEM is closed today so I can't just call them.

 

Call them when they're open. They used to do lifetime warranty for free, no matter where you bought it from, with no papers. I heard more recently they started charging for it, but I don't think it's that bad. I think maybe $100-200 max or less.

I just spoke with them about 5 days ago. They asked when I bought it and asked for a sales reciept.

it cost $50 to have them find out what is wrong with it if its not got a warranty........they apply that to the cost of fixing it..could be .35 for a resistor or could be more,mine is there right now getting fixed

 

You have to love h-t. There are so many people that someone is bound to know the answers.

 

Ive always been told these units had lifetime warranties. They even warrantied things that were my user error. Back in the days the communication between the software and firmware wasn't so good. If it messed up, the EPROM would be hosed. They sent me a new chip and when I went to put it in, I accidentally broke a pin off. They sent me another one.

 

Have always fixed everything that was AEM related free of charge

 

I was told as long as the seal wasn't removed they fix it for free.

any word , what happened ?

 

I gave them a call and they said they will inspect if for 50.00. After that they will quote me a repair cost. If they find it is completely toasted they will not repair it.
