Default Shorty Header ?

Yeah I feel a bit stupid. Searched, and have not seen one either. What is a shorty Header... like... what is the difference between a DC normal 4-2-1 and a DC shorty 4-2-1? All I know is one is like 150$ cheaper. And am guessing one is shorter?

I've heard of shorty headers for domestics like my GMC, but have never heard of shorty headers for smaller displacement motors.

I guess my Kamikaze header could be classified as a shorty. It is a 4-1 design, with the collector right at the flange.

Different runner lengths, provide different powerband gains

It refers to the length of tubing, off each cylinder, before they combine.
And yeah, I guess the kamikaze type would be a "shorty"....but its usually for domestics. I havent seen any others for hondas.

Instead - 4-1 or 4-2-1, as said above.
We tend to get longer header designs, actually

So what does the shorter lengths do? What would the power band be for the shorty, vs the regular, 4-2-1 one piece DC? I have seen no dynos or anything.

my friend has shorty headers on his focus, and they just look like a turbo manifold for a civic.

Back in 99' I had a b16 motor with mucho head work & a stock bottom end. This header provided 4hp more than a 4-1 JdmR. The dyno pulls were at R & D in Gardena, Ca. 190hp as apposed to 186hp. My conclusion was that this Kamikazi "shorty" was a great street header!

ps - another plus was the ground clearance!
