it sticks right out of the top of the tranny, near the back...

You can see it on this thread:

First pic, its black
Just keep in mind, thats the back view of a tranny, and yours will look slightly different

connector is grey...unfortunately most are

You cant check level through that hole...all its good for is adding fluid.
It should only be filled to the fill plug level...which is a LOT lower. You only ever add 2qts...thats all it needs
People use the vss hole, because its 10000x easier to fill through it, because its a straight shot, unlike the fill hole, which is sideways.

(damn it, the "axle tutorial" pics are gone...wtf)

no........
Like I said, the vss hole isnt the actual fill hole...its just one thats more convenient.
You only use 2qts MAX

edit***
Look, this is the actual fill hole, just above the drain plug...

Its too hard to fill something...from the side...so most just use the vss or another top-of-tranny hole.
Actual capacity is 1.8-1.9qts.....just use 2.0

please search through old threads here, archived ones....by clicking Search at the top of the page.
Unless you have gear grinding, there is no reason to use synchromesh fluid - just honda mft (manual transmission fluid)

You want to fill it through the VSS hole until fluid is trickling out the filler plug in the above picture. It only took like 1.5 quarts to fill my Y8 tranny and I used Castrol GTX 10w30.

Yes.

That's how you check the tranny fluid, you fill it up until it starts to overflow x2

no synchromesh is a type of mtf...so you'll want 2qts of that, to replace the honda mtf
