Vtec doesnt kick in

Default Vtec doesnt kick in

I have a 93 EG with a GSR swap but my Vtec wont kick in and i am not getting any check engine lights for it, have any idea what it is?... I am thinking its the solenoid but theres no check engine light for it

Check to make sure you have enough oil, if the oil pressure isn't right it won't kick in. Also, just to prepare you for the death, it's VTEC, not V-TECH, you're about to receive a lash.

you do realize that V-TECH doesnt mean anything?? ITS VTEC, its on your ******* valve cover how do you mess it up???

Yea ..pretty much what dude said earlier, check your oil ..oil pressure, then the wiring to your solenoid. Something could've come loose or.. well, you have no oil.

For future reference the SEARCH button is your only friend on HT, especially when you can't spell vtec. But here this link has everything you need to know straight from the manual. I sourced this through the search button, by typing in " vtec doesn't work " and clicking "archived content" and then clicking "Seach" and resulted 289 results! This being most recent!

I am running a p72, i changed the solenoid, rewired it, and changed the oil...and still nothing????

its prob ur dented pan. Lot o people say it wont work if the pan is dented.

i dont think its your pan thats the problem is the vtec soleniod pluged in correctly? and what harness are u using?

could be numerous things. oil level is low. oil pan dented. plugs not plug in. vtec wire melted?

Probably ******* oil pressure...like the FIRST POST said...that's what I'd check first, get a new oil pan..****...VTEC problems aren't that complex...
