Default 96 hatch heater core leak issues...HELP

So I have searched long and hard to no avail.

I am having overheating issues, due to a leak in the coolant lines somewhere. I noticed the leak under the passenger side of the car, however I haven't seen any water or coolant inside the car.

***UPDATE****
Got a pressure test done at a local shop and there was apparently NO leaks anywhere....?? But when I start driving....sure enough within ten minutes or so ALL of the coolant has either boiled away or has leaked out somewhere/car overheats!!

Grrrrr......I can't explain it? Any thoughts

thanks for the help

its your heater core leaking

but it doesnt cost $20 for a new one & you have to remove ur dash which is a bitch just to get to it

you should get an oem one too not an aftermarket one

i just printed out the heater core replacement section out of a helms when i did mine
its breaks everything down step by step

so just get a helms online somewhere if you dont already have one...

& also b4 you install the new one
fill it with water & check for leaks

dont go aftermarket for ur replacement
i went that route & it didnt fit

so all in all my car was in pieces while waiting for the honda one
if i remember correctly it was a lil under 200 for a new honda one

you cant tell if a heater leaks just by looking at it

did you pull it out & fill it up with water & check for a leak

all this time i thought u said there was coolant inside ur car on the passenger side
haha

cliff notes would help
nobody wants to read a paragraph

wow!

check the coolant lines under the engine bay that go to & from ur heater core
maybe there cracked or loose

I think I'll try a radiator pressure test to find exactly where the prbblem is.....It is leaking a TON and I can quite find it.....

thats a good idea.. i just replaced my heater core to find out it wasnt bad.. the hose going into the firewall was leaking and it was going into my car ..So I just figured bad heater core and 5 hours later after taking the dash out and replacing it ..come to find mine was just fine

get a pressure tester that hooks on the rad it will pump air and find the leak fast

i blew up an 88 lincoln because a whole in the firewall line once. anyhow if it's just a pinhole type leek you might try stop leek. get it from the parts store. and make shure you follow the directions. i gave some change to a bum once and he told me about the stuff. and i tryed it 10 back in febuary and i havnt had a problem sence.

This is one thing that I have suspected all along, however there is no typical blue sweet smelling smoke coming out?......I'll check compression of cylinders next.

I was also thinking that this could also be something as stupid as a bad radiator cap.....hence poor seal = lost pressure = coolant spilling out the top and dripping down my frame and onto the ground?? I'll keep you posted.

well is there coolant on your rad? you would notice if it was leaking there.. you need to get a leakdown test done not a compression test

when my coolant was boilin' out, over to my reservoir tank, after replacin' everythin' within tha coolin' system, it ended up bein' just tha head gasket. but like i said, tha coolant was boilin' out into tha reservoir tank.

right now, i have coolant drippin' from tha heater core, in tha passenger's side floor area. and it's drippin' over to my SRS' computer. do you guys think "stop leak" or whatever it was will clog that leak up? on a 2hr drive, tha amount of coolant i lost was coolant in tha reservoir tank from max line down to just a half-pinky amount.

i knew i never should have replaced that daym valve-to-heatercore hose. i must have cracked tha welds or somethin'.
