Question: Stack oil sandwich Adapters
I recently installed an oil cooler on my D16Z6. I occasionally take part in open track events and have a need for addtional oil cooling as the car is boosted.
I was originally using one oil filter sandwich plate as a source for oil feed to the turbo and a signal source for both oil pressure and oil temp gauges. While installing the oil cooler, which uses an additional Mocal sandwich plate, I ran into clearance problems with the fittings that attach the lines to the sandwich plate.
I ended up adding a third plate into the mix to gain enough space for the line to attach to the Mocal adapter without clearance problems.
So, now I am running:
1) sandwich adapter - oil pressure/oil temp sending units
2) turbo oil feed - this actually ended up being a more direct attachment point. Better routing.
3) Mocal - oil cooler lines
Do you guys think this is too much weight to be hanging off the back of the block?

No, because each sandwich plate is attached to the threaded fitting (where the oil filter would normally screw onto) and not onto the block itself. Unlike where the stock oil pressure sender is threaded onto-that is attached to the block itself.
The sandwich plate/oil filter threaded fitting can support that weight. How do I know? Because I too have a stacked sandwich plate set-up. I have a Golden Eagle LS/vtec sandwhich plate, mated to a greddy oil cooler sandwich plate and haven't had any problems.
The only issue you might have is whether or not you'll be able to get the oil filter up in there (assuming you're not using a remote location) from the bottom since your stack of sandwhich plates might be too long.

why would you run it this way? Take the golden eagle sandwich plate out, get a T-fitting or drill a new hole onto the other sandwich plate and tap it. Run the line through there.

I don't mean to hijack the thread but I have a related question. I just tried installing a sandwich plate on a GSR yesterday and ran into clearance problems too. I was wondering if taking out the GSR stock oil cooler will give me better clearance. Or are the only solutions stacking plates, OR using a spin-on adapter and remoter filter? Or are there any adapter fittings that might make it work?

So far, stacking is working for me.
Removing the stock "oil cooler" is going to put you closer to the block. That may lead to addtional clearance problems.
