i just did a swap and the car had no bulb for the cel so i put a new bulb in and tried unplugging some sensors and nothing i do makes the light come on. i cant read codes either... im also having troubles getting my speedo to work ive checked grounds and fuses could the computer be causeing these problems? what could possibly causing my cel not to work

First thing I'd check is when you first start the car or turn it to the "on" position without starting it, the CEL should come on. Is it doing that? If not maybe try one more buld, if you're sure the bulb is good then I'd say year you're ECU may not be sending information/power to it. Since the speedo's are also now electronic check the VSS to make sure it's connected and installed properly. But if the ECU is messing something up for the CEL it may also be screwing that for you too but I'd start with the VSS with that.
