ok so my friend drives a 94 GSR and its got about like 130xxx miles on it, well here is the problem: it rattles when in reverse when going backwards, then when down shifting from 3rd to 2nd it rattles( by rattle i mean it goes in smooth it just sounds like the gears are chattering against one another). Then recently it stalls when at a stop sometimes and will not go into gear unless given a little gas? We blead the clutch like to make sure no air was in it, and the only other conclusion i can come to is that the trany sincros are shot or just the whole thing is done?Any info?

 

Was the clutch resevoir low on fluid? Any leaking at the firewall, inside or out? Any leaking at the slave cylinder on the tranny? Try swapping out the tranny fluid for 2.4 quarts of Honda MTF and cross your fingers.

 

umm well heres the thing- he said that one day all the fuild in the resevoir was gone ( like it all leaked out) then he filled and kept going and no more has leaked but do you think maybe at that time it blew and it is now shot?

 

sounds more like a syncro problem. If it were a clutch master/slave cylender, you would only have a problem shifting, but if the noise is there while accelerating/driving, its most likly in the trans.
