Default car randomly dieing

i just swapped a jdm b16 into my 93 eg, and it started up fine. so i left it outside for about 2 weeks waiting on some parts, then i try to start it, all i got was cranking, so i checked spark plugs, i took one them ou connected to a spark wire, laid it on something metal to check for sparks, it had none. so checked ground and cleaned the distributor, and then it had spark. so i put everything back and tried to start it up, it did, but when i took it out for a drive, the whole died on me, so i let it idle and it died. i'm thinking bad distributor???

true...I would start off by swapping out the entire distributor hopefully solving all possible problems caused by the ignitor, coil....and if that doesn't solve it then I would move on to any possible fuel issues...is your car equipped with an alarm?
