Could be a lot of things, but a bad ignition coil is as likely as anything. If you have a spark tester and a multi-meter, you can do a quick test. See if any of the plugs are getting spark from the distributor. Then backprobe the connector that plugs into the distributor with the multi-meter. If the distributor is getting proper ground and battery voltage, but not putting out any spark... the ignition coil is your likely culprit. And if not your coil, then it's the ignitor unit. Both serviceable parts (and available at most parts stores) within the distributor housing. Of course, if you're opening up your distributor, it's always a good idea to inspect/clean or replace your cap contacts and rotor too...

Another common reason for sudden death like that is a stripped timing belt. Take the oil cap off and make sure the rocker arms move when you crank. Then if that is OK, check for spark. There will be no sparks if the distributor doesn't rotate.

Not to hijack your thread but wondering if you resolved the issue? if so, what did you find. I have a similar issue with a 2000 Accord 3.0
