whats your car ( make, model, year)?

I've done this job on EG , withOut removing the front bumper ( i just remove the corners screws and bolts, and "stuff" the headlights in there)
Installed properly, No problem at all

tricky ( try not to scratch the paint, used masking-tape, or some sort of thick tape ), but its do-able , saves time.

Yes, you need to remove the bumper. From there, all the bolts are visible and self-explanatory.

If you ( i was once) never done any bumper removal /replacement,
I suggest that you better remove the bumper completely ( do it right, or not at all)

then, after you got the hang of it, u can do my trick ( previous post above)

so you won't have unnecessary headache

There are 2 bolts under the bumper and 1 bolt at each end of the wing. Pop out the 5 popper screws holding the grille in and gently pull the bumper with the grille out.
