Default New dizzy... will not fit? why not?

i have read on the net and honda-tech that a d series is a d series..... that a dizzy no matter if it's vtec or not will fit on none and vice-versa.......

i have a 1.6 vtec and i ordered a 1.5 dizzy..... it goes in the hole but the bolt holes does not line up..... it's off some... so why? should i just drill the holes out or does it not fit for a reason? it's faceing the right way just the way i took the old one out... ... all wires plug up correctly...

what could be the problem??

If you have you other distributor housing, the internals swap over.

Yea I wouldn't half-*** anything as important as ignition and timing. Try to return it or sell it again or something I dunno.

y7 and y8 are the same dist. All the fins are the same as well. The only difference is the housing mounting points. If you cant put it in all the way try rotating the fins 180* and try again.

most all D series dizzies are the same except the d16z6 and the d15z1. (92-95 vtec)
Of course there are differences in harness for ODB1 and 2 etc. You need a d16z6 specific dizzy. (d16z6 and d15z1 are the same bolt pattern)
