'92 accord won't start
I have a '92 accord 2 door which has 176k miles on it. It won't start for me most days. I just put a new battery in month or two ago because of the same problem. I sanded down the connection at the wires for the battery thinking corrosion might be a problem but it wasn't. I noticed the oil was a little low yesterday so I put a couple more quarts in. But no matter what I do it will just keep cranking and cranking but won't turn over until the battery dies.
I live in Detroit and it's cold right now so that probably has something to do with it. But even on some cold cold days it will start and on some warmer days it won't.
It does start every once in a while though. Like it will start one day but then won't start for the next two days and then will start again on the third. It's strange and I just can't seem to figure it out. Most of the time though it won't start it just keeps trying and trying like it will but won't.
Any suggestions/ideas
Thanks

when you turn on the key do you hear the fuel pump run while the CEL is on?
You can hook up a test light to the Black/yellow wire at the dist to be sure the ignition switch is putting out voltage while cranking, also you can pull a plug wire loose from the dist cap and watch for spark while cranking.
Gotta have some feedback to be able to help you correctly diagnose the problem.
I'm sure the children will fill this thread with ideas about what parts to start throwing at it cause it isn't their money thats being wasted.

Thank you for your input. I recently had talked to an uncle of mine and he proposed it might be my ignition switch since it starts sometimes and doesn't other times. Though it won't start at all now.
My question is, are these difficult to swap out on my car? I don't even know what I'm looking for but I can do. I changed to slave cylinder last summer. Do you think it's about as difficult or more so/less so?
Thanks

I have a 92 also that had the same problem this last summer. It turned out that the main relay was bad. Apparently Accords are notorious for bad main relays. I agree with HONDADUDE, listen for the fuel pump. If it doesn't kick on there's a good chance that it's the relay. Hope that helps.
