F22( G series) Build Need help Ordering Custom Pistons
Im looking at starting a new build for next summer, Ive decided Im going to use a f22a Bottom end(stock Bore) with my h22 head, Im doing this so I dont have to sleeve, this isnt a track car etc.,, SO it is a budget Build.
Anyways, The only company that has off the shelf pistons for the f22 is Arias but there comp is way to low 8 2, So Id like custom pistons, This is where my problems is, How do i go about ordering the right pistons for my build, Do they need specific measuerments etc?
I know Im going to be using the Import Builders F22 Rods, (L: 5.580 Pin Diam: 22mm).
Sorry if this is a newb question, I just dont want to be stuck with a set of paperweights.

Re: F22( G series) Build Need help Ordering Custom Pistons (JDMRice)
There is a full spec sheet that needs to be filled out to do the custom piston. Most parts are straight forward if its similar to stock specs. these are some things we tell Arias when we do our custom pistons.
but things to consider are:
1. If stroker setup(not using stock length rods), you have to have the rod lenght, stroke to determine the wrist pin placement. Also pin size.
2. Valve size, if using standard or oversize: determines the valve reliefs.
3. Type of Head and block you're using. Combustion chamber volume to determine compression. If its not a common cyl head, may need the head sent as well to do the measurements.
4. If using cams that will change valve relief clearance, will need the cam specs, lift, duration, etc. most common in higher compression all motor setups.
5. Any cylinder head chamber work, welded chambers, etc.
These are just some things thats needed. of course compression will be determined by the bore size, cylinder head chamber volume, deck height, etc.

here's some of the custom pistons we've done for our customers. Mostly All motor to match the camshaft they are using. but pretty much same idea for turbo, just not so critical with valve clearance and dome clearance.
