The B16 in my 99EX ran great for about a year, now it hesitates most of the time I jump on the throttle in top gear, take turns and give it throttle, and expecially when the road is bumpy, the tach and engine wildly jump up and down a few hundred rpms.

The ignition coil went out while the care was acting up on an extremely bumpy road. So far the plugs, wires, rotor, cap, coil, ICM, fuel filter have been replaced and the ground and timing checked.

There is a lttle bit of black exhaust residue on the bumper. The car has cats, It's an OBD-1 JDM B16 I believe. It idles smooth btw, and WOT is fine. Could the crank position sensor be messed up?

I'll acquire a vacuum gauge today and see what's going on at idle to see if that helps.
