swap runs different
ok i swaped my y7 head and intake mani for a y8 head and intake mani and put in a crower stage 1 cam. When you are stoped at a light or whatever and the car is runing it makes a noise like something is backfiring in the headers or somewhere in the exhaust. Any ideas? Also after the swap the car doesnt accerate from a standstill good, it like bogs down for the first few seconds.
Also should I have goten a new cam gear cause I put in the new camshaft? WOuld that cause any of this

Re: swap runs different (walsh22)
now im not very familiar with d series motors but doesnt a mini me swap offset the timing? you also installed a new cam...did you get the car tuned after? if not that is what you NEED to do...or else the car just wont run right
edit*what ecu are you running?
that noise your hearing could also be detonation...dont beat on it till you get tuned

Re: swap runs different (sabbath)
I reccamend you get an adjustable cam gear
also make sure your timing belt is not off a tooth
and also make sure the ignition timing is dead on ( check with a timing light)
