Default 89 D15 into a 98 civic

What needs to be changed, or is this a direct swap? A friend asked me this ? and I have no idea without seeing the 98 Civic. Do plugs have to be changed or is it plug and play?

You would have to move the car back down to OBD-1, and run the D15B2 with MPFI with a D15B7 ECU.

not sure what you mean, will the 1989 D15 work in a 1998 Civic CX if I swap out the ECU? are all the plugs the same and will there be extra plugs not used?

Let me walk you through.

- CONVERT THE 98 from OBD-2B to OBD-1
- D15B2 Block must have MPFI intake manifold distributor system.
- The distributor on the block must be OBD-1 (or 2 but that's too complicated at this point )
- Take the ECU from ANY CAR that contained the D15B7 stock (I.E 92-95 Civic DX/LX, Del Sol) and plug it into your converted OBD-1 harness.
- Now it will work PROPERLY.
