obd2 distributor ??
So I have a 98 gsr distributor, running off my obd1 p72 ecu. Everything seems to be working fine. I thought I needed a obd1 distributor, whats the difference?

Internally they are the same, only differences is the plugs.

Re: obd2 distributor ?? (The Clash)
Its in my 95 civic, so I'm asumming that the engine I have since it has a 98 harness allowed the distributor to work. How about the main plugs at the strut towers... they still fit even though my car is a 95 and the motor is a 98... how is that so any harness from 94 - 2000 will plug into a 92-95 civic?
thanks
thanks

i have a 98 EK dx with 94 b18b and im wondering the same thing. my distributor went bad so when i was searching to buy one for the 94 OBD1 distributor, i noticed it wouldnt fit due to the plugs. so i guess im gonna need obd2 distributor with one plug because thats what the harness will fit at....im getting myself confused...

You might be n0ob but you're right. The only thing that differs from the OBD1 and OBD2 distributors is the external plug style. OBD2B lack the RPM signal though.

Even though the 96-01 Integra's are OBD2, their engine harness uses the same plugs and pinouts which just happen to cleverly be plug-n-play with 92-95 Civic's chassis harness (at shock towers). It makes putting any OBD1 or OBD2 motor into an EG be very easy. EK Civic owners don't have it so lucky...

You can use use an OBD1 distributor in an OBD2 chassis and vice versa. All you need to do is switch the plug(s) to make it plug-n-play.
