Default E-Brake light issues

There are a couple of weird issues with the brake light inside the cluster inside my 1994 Accord Ex.

1. A couple of days ago the brake light started coming on (and staying on) when the car is in D4, D3, D2 or R. The brake light goes off as soon I shift back into P or N. I checked the fluid and it seems to be ok, so are the pads - replaced maybe 6 months ago. Any ideas of what this could be and where else I could look?

2. This problem preceded the one in #1 (ie it was happening before the light started coming on solid when the car is in any moving gear). After driving for a while (usually over an hour), the brake light would slowly light up (never fully lit, but progressed from being barely visibile to dimly lit). It would go away after the car would sit for a while, but always came back on after driving for a period of time.

Could these two be related, and if anyone knows what could be the causes of each?

TIA

Test the float switch in the brake master cylinder.

I checked the fluid and the level seemed ok, but I added a little more anyway and the light went away.

Ok so the pesky e-brake light is back and won't go away. I replaced the top of the reservoir cap/floater and bled the whole system - the light still will not go away.

One thing I noticed - the light only comes on when the car is in moving gear (i.e. not in park or neutral). However, the light also stays off if any door of the car is open (even with the car in D or R).

Can someone please tell me where I should look next???

Which brake light? I just checked all of mine, and all three are working fine.

To clarify, the light I am referring to is the one that says "BRAKE" and is linked to the e-brake handle, not the "Brake Lamp" light.

RESOLVED: turns out there was a break in the wiring of the alarm system on the car, and a ground wire was loose. I reattached it and the light is gone!!
