Default h23 head swap on f22b2 block

hey so im getting my h23 head on the 30th hopefully. i've been trying to piece things together for this swap, but its hard because i cant find anyone that has done this swap. all i know is that i need f23 head gasket, h23 lower timing gear, and h23 timing belt components. i dont know much about figuring out compression ratios, so does anyone know what the compression ratio will be and if i have to do anything to the f22b2 block like boring or anything, because i dont want to take the block out and change pistons and bore it out. so any more information would be greatly appreciated

BoostedH23Accord, I was going to mention him to talk to you too about it ... or recommend using the search button

EDIT: here's a good place to check too if you're doing this swap or thinking about it ...

Thanks.

I've done this a couple of times now so I can try to answer any questions you have.

I also have a spare H23 head but it needs new valves if anybody is interested.

I hope you get the answer you seek. If that guys replies 16 years after his last post i'd be genuinely amazed.

Use waybackmachine to view old forum threads. Or just do the right thing and a get a proper engine. Hybrid head/block H/F series are junk and prone to issues.

okay, let me ask this.... say I really just want to build a head. No idea what model or year etc it will eventually go on. Which would give me the most options down the road?

I'm assuming you're asking about an H series. The best OEM casting is the PDE head variant from the Euro-R & 00-01 H23A engines. If you don't plan to port the head then use one of those, if you can find one. They have gotten exceptionally rare and expensive over the past few years. Otherwise any P13 head from a basic H22 will match or exceed the PDE head with a mild port job.
