Does Anyone make a custom rod shift linkage to replace the cables on the H series Tranny?
When I race the car,Sometimes it goes in all gears but then a other times,It sometimes wont go into 2nd or third sometimes.I have a new tranny and shift cables and alot of people are telling me to get the plate and convert the tranny to B-Series.Anyone done that with an H series yet.I would appriciate some input on it.Im racing in 2007 and it has to be consistant no mistake shifting.Any suggestions???
Have you tried changing out the shifter bushings to more solid material? My friend was having a hard time shifting his H22 tranny, so like you, he changed out the cables, but still he had trouble. He put in solid metal bushings and the shifting got much better. Now he has very little issues getting the tranny into gear.
If you using B tranny - change bishing as Redline said, if H tranny - change to B
00 prelude plastic shift box is key, also buy brand new cables and change out the bushings as well, our a/m car never has issues since. h tranys have problems once you in counter alot of rpms but it can be solved with just alittle careful attention
If your realy want to keep the H trans and can spend the money try this out so all the rest of us H series guys can get a racers feed back on this product. Looks to be a well enginerd peace but the $$$ I think is why people have not tried it yet.

sometimes the cables can be stretched to far and the tranny wont go into gear.

Thats the main problem with cables, you can't jam the thing into gear without risking damage to the cables
Rather than waste money on other shifting systems though, I would switch to a twin disk clutch setup....

I started to have probs shifting 2-3 after many passes, when I disassembled the trans I found the slider/hub had wear in the grooves that the slider rides in. After replacement no more shift issues. I also have a competition clutch twin which eliminated most of my shifting issues.
I run the CM twin disk and rev up to 9400-9600 rpm no problem it just comes down to the damn cables. Started to have problems later on and come to find one of the cables had stretched at the point where the cables clip to the trans.
