just a few questions.

Hello guys,
im new here. i just got my ef civic last weekend. It has a b18 A1 out of a 93integra. Its needs a new timing belt. and it idle's really low. for the idle i just messed with the idle screw, but as for the belt, when we go to change it is there anything else that needs to be replaced at the time
thanks guys
depends on how much money you wanna spend...if you want you can put in a new water pump and tensioner pulley (i usually just change the spring).if its your first time make sure to pay extra attention to the base/cam timing when putting the belt back on to make sure everything is at TDC.

no its not absolutely necessary...but the water pump is one of those parts that you never know when its gonna go...if your not going to do the work yourself might as well have a shop do it while the Tbelt is off and they wont charge you for extra labor...if i were you though id get myself a shop manual and read the replacment process a couple times...its actually very easy if you have common sense...
but if your on a budget or dont plan on keepin the car/motor very long then its not really necessary if its lookin good right now...
where are you from? i can get the parts pretty cheap through the dealership from the shop

dude its so simple...im telling you invest in a 20 dollar shop manual or download them from the site in the FAQ sticky...pretty much any newbie type questions you have will be answered in there...if after you buy a manual you still decide that its over your head, then take it to a shop...
just remembered you got a dual cam...ur gonna want the shop manual for your car model as well as one for a da integra...
trust me its easy and can be done with basic tools...well the crank pulley bolt can be stubborn sometimes but thats probably the only frustrating thing you will run into
nice hatch BTW

yea, and now i have been talking to a friend of mine. and he says that even tho the belt hasn't snapped yet, it could have skipped a tooth. and bent a valve
