Default Cluster problem

Just bought a car. Speedo doesnt work and the miles dont add on..

I got a vss code but I dont know where it is on the auto tranny.

Any help?

Same prob here.... except manual tranny....i think that if the spedo doesnt work the odo wont work so it must be in the speedo sensor or the cluster itself..?

I dont know if the cluster is broke or its just the vss need some help!

It's your VSS. Replace it.

Wheres the VSS on the auto tranny? Is it the one up front towards the block?

Search for a pic. It should be near the rear of the tranny.

vehicle speed sensor.. should be on the back like he^ said.. just go buy the part then search for it

is the placement the same for manual and auto?

it should be closer to the back side of the tranny going straight up and down with a plug with 2 wires in it....closer to the firewall....the 2 wire plug towards the front isn't your VSS...it's you reverse sense switch inside the tranny
placement should be the same for auto and manual....maybe not exactly the same but close
before you go and replace it though...just make sure that it's plugged in securely
