I just arrived at home and parked my car. The engine was still on.

The engine sounded like i was pressing the gas and then letting go. Again and again.

Like someone was riviting it up. VOomm......VOOooommm VOoooom.

So I decide to check it in the morning since it was late. So I warmed it up and its not doing the Vooom. Now it runs little rough and I hear soft boom sounds. Its not really a knocking. Sounds like small combustion noise at random.

I asked my friends and they think its the ECU or a Fuel Senor problem.

Please Help.

start with cleaning out the TB and iacv.. see if it changes anything also see if you have any VAC leaks

Anyways, I was told it was the intake manifold gasket.

Now I need to learn how to replace it or they will charge me $450.

Can anyone point me anywhere?

Get a second opinion, first off the throttle body takes at most, 30 minutes to take off. The gasket is around $30 if that much from Honda. So your getting taken for a ride, and its probably not even the gasket. Spray some bubble water around the throttle body to see if you can spot any air rushing in.

Your butterfly in your throttle body was probably just stuck, I wouldn't worry about it, if it concerns you that much, clean the throttle body.

THanks for everyones advice. I greatly appreciated it.

I detached the IACV and looked at the filter/gasket. It was clean.

I dont think I have enough knowledge to take and clean a TB.

Anyone in the Los Angeles Area that can train this noob?

That's a good way to confuse him! He said intake manifold gasket not throttle body gasket.

OP: I would definitely start by cleaning the throttle body, IACV and intake manifold with some carb cleaner. It's just a few bucks at the parts store. Also check for vacuum leaks because they usually cause an engine to rev and drop, rev and drop.

Edit: You don't have to take the throttle body off to clean it. Just spray it off with some carb cleaner.
