I just got an XM radio so I can listen to even more talk radio while the miles are being clicked off on the road.

I have a 2G and for the MSRP of the car in '03 I would have expected a better stereo overall. But from I have read if you start replacing stuff you have to go all the way, one of the amps being mated to the HU and the other amp tied to the sub. I think the only easy thing to do is swap the door speakers.

i'm not really concerned about drawing attention to myself i know when to and when not to have the stereo blaring. so i guess no one really upgrades the system huh.?

i ended up going with two 10" jl w3v3 subs, with everything else stock, not bad for now. i will eventually upgrade the rest. anyone who wants some very clean bass, i recommend the same setup.

we had the same dilema with our Bose system. We wanted to add Ipod and amp/ sub. At first I wanted to get a better deck but quickly realized the 6 disc bose is very clean sounding. and install would be expensive to rewire all speakers. and I wouldnt be able use steering wheel vol. control. I got Wire- tunes inline ipod connector and RCA convertors for amp with 12s and bass filters for all front speaks. Its good enuff now.

Default Question for Blamm!! or any one who might know something about Wiretunes

Blamm!!, i have an 03 z71 tahoe and i am trying to figure out how to install my wire tunes correctly. I got it installed and working to the point of where i could get my ipod to play but i was not able to access the cd player. So i looked at the instructions again and called the tehcies at wiretunes (which were of no help whatsoever!!!) and they seemed not to have a clue that wire tunes even existed. None the less, so i pulled cd player back out and clipped that little pink wire, and am still not able to access my cd player. Didnt know if you had any problems with this or could possibly guide me in the right direction.

thanks

ok so i have been looking at this quite a bit trying to figure out why my wire tunes and cd player wont work together. my tahoe is not xm which is the problem. IF your silverado is xm it shouldnt be a problem but i was looking at a chevy avalanche forum today and they say this nucleus interface is a lot better and it is easier to install. So i guess since i have $140 invested in this thing already, and i can get it to work and not my cd player, i might as well just wait til i find something that will. if you find out anything let me know

oh and i even called the metra wire tunes tech support again. that guy is an idiot!
