I was checking the pressure at which my wastegate opens and its leaking... i apply compressed air to the lower nipple and it sounds like its leaking between shaft and the seal that goes through the lower housing.
i know its not the diaphram as i've checked that its not torn or seated. but its leaking around the actual shaft...
ideas?

the seal around the diaphram, metal area cracked off and leaked, and 2 screw's that hold my piston in came out and i kept over boosting, dint know why till i took it off and shook it

yea mine is fine at the seal.
its around the bushing that presses into the lower half of the housing that the shaft passes through

That's pretty typical. They're designed that way. As long as the valve is lifting under compressed air, you shouldn't have any problems. The funny part is that you will also get leakage past the diaphragm from the factory. Put your finger on the top nipple while compressed air is on the bottom port for a while and you'll see.
It is hard to seal that valve stem, I've tried it with a Teflon seal (which just melted away), high temp o-ring (got baked). Then as a designer if you make the tolerances to tight, then you get galling, or binding. Or in the case of one of the most popular WGs out there, the metals grow and bind at peak temps.
Synchronic WG is in production now and will be available in mid to late January. If you wanted to use it as a traditional WG there are two chambers that can be used to lift up the valve. One of them is a pneumatically sealed chamber.

That is awsome! So of course I have to ask...how much are those going to run? The 50mm seems like a great gate especially if the flange is the same size as the 44. Have you done any real world testing of the valves?
Of course there's been lots of testing and testing as we speak. Which is what is one of the factors that is causing it to take so long to get it available for retail.
You should see a tech article/test in Turbo Magazine in the next couple of months.

At the end of the video, you said "birth control". I think you meant to say "boost control". Otherwise, very informative video. Thanks!
