Yep....it works. As far as the leakdown goes, you can do it out of the car...only problem is the motor is cold so your numbers are going to be higher. If it's good cold though, it's certainly straight when the rings are expanded and everything is heated up.

 

#s will be lower when cold, the pistons and rings are not warm and have not expanded

Well, I meant that your leakdown numbers (versus compression) will be higher, so it's safe to assume if they are acceptable with the motor cold, then your certainly in good shape with the motor warm.

I admit I did type that a little hard to understand. So to be very clear to the O.P.

Compression psi will be lower with motor cold
Leak down numbers will be higher (i.e. larger percentage leakdown) with cold motor
