how to take apart my clutch.
so i got the tranny off. does the clutch bolt right off or is spring loaded or anything like that? and where can i pick up the allignment tool that ur sposed to use when u put the clutch back on?
too cheap right now. im pinchin pennies. im swappin my exedy clutch from my gsr on to my ls motor so i need to buy that tool.
Yes, it just ubolts. You can use a series of extensions and sockets as an alignment tool....or just eyeball it.....those methods work better then that pos little tool anyway. The tool has more wobble to it then being drunk and trying to walk a straight line.
I agree with 95 INTEGRA those tools only work when they want to i went out and bought one used it and still couldnt get the shaft aligned right had to take it off and eyeball it in or use a socket that fits snug in the hole and bolt it down.
Yea, I think a 3/8" extension fits in the pilot bearing and like a 19mm (1/2) drive will fit the clutch disc. So basically you have the socket holding the disc up and the extension lining it up w/ the pilot bearing.....if that makes sense.

yea that makes sense. and also, im tryin to take the flywheel off the motor but i keep crankin the motor in stead. i dont want to wedge anything under the flywheel cuz i dont want to hurt the teeth. should i have someone hold the crank pulley bolt with a wrench to keep the motor from turning over or will that just loosen the crank pully bolt?
Hit the wrench with a big hammer. I'll tell you from personal experience that holding the crank pulley isnt a bright idea. In my case, it allowed enough movement to let the thrust washer to slide down and wedge in bewteen the crank and main cap. It ended up more or less ruining the entire bottom end. Big hammer and impact is the way to go.

when i was installing my flywheel i jammed a thick screwdriver in the teeth, no damage done and worked just fine.
