what could possibly cause an intermittent code 21? im thinking maybe poor connections, its more annoying than anything..any ideas would be great

Considering its a single wire connection, its either a bad connection or a bad vtec solenoid....sounds pretty easy to trace down.

two wire conection..and 21 is the oil pressure swith, 22 is the actual solenoid

21 VTEC spool solenoid valve
22 VTEC pressure valve

Double checked it in my manual and it shows the same, code 22 is the oil pressure switch and 21 is the actual vtec spool.

 

oh well...i reset the ecu and it hasnt come back on yet so i know the solenoid's not bad...i hate the way my car runs in the winter

 

Looks like a wiring grimlin then....or maybe you got mixed up on the code?

yea im thinking its the wiring...im going to go back and solder all the connections and put new ecu pins in it...and im thinking because its so random it is wiring
