Default another bouncing tach and misfireing thread.

i've got a b18c1 in my del sol, with a turbo on it, was tuning it the other day when the tach started bouncing around at 5k rpms in WOT. REPLACED THE DISTRIBUTOR, and it's still bouncing tach and now it's started misfiring while WOT around 5k rpms. the ecu is good, we put it in another car and it runs fine, we replaced the wires, looked at the spark plugs, and now we're out of ideas.
A/F ratio looks fine also.
anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

What year swap? Wiring issue maybe??? My guess is the misfire is because the ecu doesnt know what rpm you're at and is sending all kinds of mixed signals to the dizzy. Is the distirbutor plug original or did you do an OBD I conversion on it?

it's an obd1 engine in an obd1 car, so there was no "creative wiring". no error codes or anything

if that doesn't work check the black and yellow wire coming off the distributer, make sure it isn't pinched anywhere, its the output wire from the distributer to the tach, if it hits any bare metal it will mess up the whole cam reading and throw the entire ecu and causes the car to jump around with the tach.

does it only happen at WOT? Or is that the only time you notice it? Any relation to bumps in the road
