PROBLEMS W/ HMO...WHY ME!!!
just wondering if i'm the only one that got screwed over. i'm not hating on hmotors but, they really did a shitty job this time. i ordered a JDM b16a from them, and i did the swap and everything, but then as i start to run it, everytime i turn right i'll hear a bumping noise and also the same noise once i hit 3rd gear, i called them 2 weeks ago about the problem, and they said it was the tranny, so i had to take the motor out to take out the tranny, box it up and wait for UPS to come pick it up. he said they'll be here 2 mondays ago, and i still got the tranny in my garage. also, the fuel injectors were badly damaged, both axles were broken, and the distributor was messed up. i guess i just got unlucky cuz everyone else seems to have good business. SUCKS!!!
It doesn't sound like a problem that can't be fixed. You're screwed if they don't send you anything else and tell you to deal with it. That's having a problem, stop complaining and talk to them
You should just send the trans, the sooner you send them all the broken parts the sooner hell send you all the good parts. Instead of making a thread to try to bash them and waste time having the parts you should call them. Ive had customers bring me hmo motors and whenever theres a problem they go back to steve and its fixed same day (since were local). It shoudl go very smoothly.

They're a company run by humans, they can't be perfect.
Though there's 100% startup warranty, etc. etc. - there's no guarantees that EVERYBODY is going to get a PERFECT engine... So you got shafted, if they make it right, you didn't get shafted. So you got unlucky, see if they'll fix it is all you can do.

Yea, they are really good guys. Ive bought a good bit of stuff from them and is the ONLY place I will buy engines from.
My first one from them had a few broken things, but its a 200lbs engine being shipped 2000 miles wtf do you think will happen. And do you expect for them to take apart every tranny and look at them to make sure they are ok, same with the engines. Thats why if something is wrong they will fix it. They deal with 100's of people a day, mistakes happen, dont make a post bitching, just call them and remind them. Thats business, if it isnt important enough for you to bother them and stay on top of everything it isnt important enough for them to swap out the trannys.

HMO has a impeccable reputation in and out of H-T... I buy stuff from them all the time and when I have a problem they fix it in a sec !!!

i got a b16a from them with a bad dizzy but never complained about it, and no matter where you get your swap from axles are usually bad, aside from me thinking the guy is a bit rude over the phone (im sure its just me im really impatient) he's good in my book.
hey, don't get me wrong guys, i'm not bashing them or nuttin like that, i understand that everyones human and all, but after you make a mistake you should try your best to fix it ASAP, this guys been telling me UPS will pick my tranny up tomorrow for 2 weeks already. i talked to him about 15 times, he insisted i waited for UPS to come to my house to pick up the tranny, so i did, steve said that the guy is coming TODAY for sure, and its still sitting in the garage. i mean i kinda wanna drive my car, i've been working on it for about 2 months, everytime i fix a problem, a new ones comes up. but i've ordered a lot from HMO, good ****.
who knows maybe they're busy this time of year...

yeah, steve is cool. i always get whatever JDM shiet from him as i can. plus, he always gives me a better deal than everyone else. i think i should drive up there, again, to see what other new things he has got.

ps: have you tried asking him why it's taking UPS long? can you call UPS yourself?

^it's faster man, much faster. I can get the motor out of an EG in barely over an hour, getting the tranny out alone is a PITA though.
And to the OP, yeah, you may be the only one lol. I have used them several times and had no issues at all that weren't fixed extremely fast.
However though, it is tax time, a lot of people probably just got some cash for swaps and they are swamped at the moment so it could be bogging them a bit. I am quite sure that will fix the situation though.
