bumper turning black from exhaust!
so I've had my Injen exhaust for about a month n a 1/2 now and ive been noticing that my bumper right above it is getting blacker and blacker from this damn thing. ive tried scrubbing the hell out of it when i wash my car but its not really coming off. so my question is....... is there anything to do or to put there to prevent my bumper from melting and getting darker?
Have you tried using a claybar to get it out? That worked on my STi (which had a horribly black bumper when I did it. I ended up getting a metal bumper shield but I don't know if they are available for the civic.
Jon
PS: You are lucky, due to being catless and having a pig rich tune (Cobb Accesport) I had on my STi, it only took about 1 week to turn brown/black.

ok.. thanx.. ill try both.. i have some rubbing compound in the garage i can use and if needed ill go get a clay bar.
oh and yeah.. my bumper did start turning blackish/brown about a week or so after i got the exhaust too.. ive been just scrubbing the **** out of it when i wash my car to try n prevent it from getting worse but its just gettin outta control now! especially because its so noticeable on a white car.

Tell me about it, Subarus have horrible paint too (press too hard with a clay bar even w/ lube and it may flake), I have heard the same thing about FGs but all the Hondas I have owned have had fine paint.
