Default dust shield

does anyone have any instructions on how to take off the dust shield? this includes taking off the brakes too right?

and is it safe to drive without the dust shield? will getting dust on brakes be really bad?

thanks but that post didn't really tell me how...is the dust shield welded onto the brakes or just bolted on? any cutting involved in taking them out?
