****** the enigine with a front end loader shake violently until it rips out then you can easily remove the alternator ....... or just get it from the bottom sometimes a 12 or 14 on a longlong extension makes that bottom bolt real easy to get to ....

I've been able to magically finagle it through the driver's fender well before (of course the tire needs to be off).

No, you don't. You don't disconnect the brakelines from the master cylinder. Just the master cylinder from the brake booster. I know because I did it that way this past weekend.

Yeah, that is one way of doing it.

The only problem is the drivers side axle is a bear to get out with hand tools, specifically the axle nut.

Exactly....and you don't have to take it out. Alt. slips right out....between the engine and the axle over towards the tranny. I can do it in about 15mins now that way had a run of bad alternators on my car....very frustrating.

Unbolt the master frm the boost and move on the side with lines still attached. Alt. slides right out without having to crawl under the car or jack up the car at all.

just unbolt it bolt in the new one and let the old one just lay there, find a bumpy road and drive like hell, it'll come out.
