u need rod bearings, pistons and a ring set. and you need to deglaze the cylinder walls. if your gonna use stock rods you need to have the pins pressed out of the old pistons and into the new pistons

deglaze your cylinder walls? what do you mean by that?

as long as the factory crosshatching is present and there are no other scratches on the cylinder walls honing really isnt necessary...

also for the stock rods the ctr pistons wont directly fit...you need to have a machine shop shave(geez im having a brain fart right now its either 1 or 2mm total) material off each side of the rod to fit the piston.

also while you have the bottom end apart it would be a good idea to have the crank polished and rod bolts installed....its not necessary but its something to look into...

i got CTRs in my b16a2. yes, i believe it is 1 mm off each side of the rod for the piston to fit.

what would be my other option to aftermarket or other oem rods from another engine. I want to do this with no more than a day or two of down time and without pulling the motor.

You could have the material machined off the pistons instead of the rods. That way it could be done ahead of time.
