Default urethane bushings

I need to know if it is necessary to upgrade to poly urethane suspension bushings for a high horsepower car?

No disrespect, but if you are worried about changing bushings in a "high whp" car, then you may want to rethink this idea...

Thats a liget question, i dont see anything wrong with that seeming as u can keep all the stock suspesion parts(i.e.-control arms and spindles.)

BUt to effectivley adjust the alignment to actually help u on the track, those parts need to be stationary.

I was just wondering how difficult they were to do! I don't have to rethink my build because it is nearing completion! your gay

I just did all mine. With all the suspension off the car and a press it wasn't bad. Without a press, I would pass.

I did mine the last time my motor was out and it made a huge difference. I def. recommend them.
I did mine with a press I have at work so that made it very easy, without a press I am sure it would be a bitch.

I have a press , so I guess it won't be a big deal. are all of you using energy suspension kits or others?

I am using the prothane kit(all 3 mounts). I got it off ebay for about $60. Well worth the money.

prothane + energy bushings all the way!, For the trailing arms i found energy easier to install you need a press or forget it! lol

seriously though get rid of all that rubber b/s it is doing nothing for you!

ALSO do not forget your traction bar~!

Dude, shut up... Saying you "need" them is an opinionated comment. Saying you dont need them is also the same, however i can name more people with "high horsepower cars" who dont use or (brace yourself) NEED them.. Might be good to have them but in no way shape or form do you "need" them

Well this might be a Honda-Tec first but your right too a point!

BUT having said that this is a forum and opinions are what forums are about and in the strictest sense of the matter you could argue about almost anything on weather you need it or not especially when it comes to cars which 90% of is an opinion and nothing really wrote in stone

Oh and next time you do not agree with me on something you do not have to flame me in the first sentence lets keep this conversation civil?

Im argueing it because you stated in your previous post " And what do you base this upon"..

Well im basing it upon experience.. The guy who posted that comment (BonerBen?) has gone mid 10's. I have gone mid 10's also.. So im not sure what horsepower level your talking about as to where you would "need" them. Either way, im sure if you ask either one of us, we will tell you their not "needed" because we didnt "need" them. That better?

there is really no need for you guys to tunr this into s **** storm. I am going to be pushin 500whp and a healthy amount of torque. I think i'm going to take the time and do it now while the car is apart. all of your inputs have been verry helpfull. thanks alot.
