Default help, crack in exhaust manifold!

I have a 1996 Lx with a D16y7 and I just removed the heatsheild on the exhaust manifold because I thought that the gasket had gone bad after noticing some smoke coming from around the manifold. After removing it I discovered there was a crack down the manifold that is about 3 inches long! Should I replace the manifold, have the crack welded, J.B. weld it? What's the best fix?

replace it asap cause a crack on the header is gonna affect the drivability. exhaust leak before the o2 will cause it to run rich

yeah, it has already dicked it up. I bought a new o2 sensor for it already. I wonder if the leak made the other one fail? Is that possible. As far as getting a header, that is a possibility, but money is tight, and keep in mind this is only a D16y7 with an intake and a cat back, SLOW! If I get the header, just wondering, I have heard both good and bad about the megan racing one.

go to your Honda dealer and have them replace it for free if it is causing a CEL.

95-97 civics have 150k mile/ 14 yr. extended emissions parts warranty.

My 96 hx had a crack in the exhaust manifold, and they replaced it along with the o2 sensor for free!

put your old O2 back in if you have it and keep the newer one for a spare. No sence in loosing a good O2 sensor at the 120 a pop

they all do that, good luck finding one at a junkyard that doesnt have that notorious crack.

You could relocate the cat convertor to underneath and run some other header if you plan on keeping the car
