Default will ODB-0 run in limp mode with no code showing?

I am having some oddities I wont go into here
I just want to know if the car could be in limp mode without the ecu blinking?

It does show codes when I know something is wrong, or when I unplug the eacv to set idle, therefore I dont think the ecu is failing to report something.

btw

I have searched, and the threads that spoke of this also, were not answered so I ask in a new post

I have no odd wiring, and all gauges work fine
I have driven the car for 2 yrs with a swap (stock swap)
but I am getting extremely high HC, and hi CO, and milage has droped
the rpms are not capped, it revs fine
when the cel came on in the past the car did not behave like it was being "limped", so I could not really say from the performance if it was "limping"

I do recall hearing that you can have the ECU throw no codes but still end up having something at issue that will cause it to go into limp.. but don't quote me on that . It should be limiting your rev if it's in limp though.

However, have you checked your gaskets, and failing that, the exhaust system? Just guess, but that might be a place to check.

Sorry I couldn't help more. Bump for answers!

if it was in limp mode you would have a steady CEL and limited revs, your problem must be outside of the pgm-fi system, clogged cat maybe?

my car is in limp mode because of a code 7 and it still rev's to 7500 RPM so i think that is false info

when limp mode happens it is a code 0, you get a steady CEL and cant rev beyond about 4000 rpm, throwing a code 7 or any other code is not limp mode, limp mode only happens when there is a major failure in the system or the ecu is fried and then has to run on a back-up program, trust me I have had it happen
