swaping a 98+ JDM B18C into 99 Civic Si... PROBLEM WITH HARNESS-CANT FIGURE OUT.
does anybody know exactly what needs to be rewired on the 99-00 civic si harness inorder for that jdm 98+ b18c to work properly...cant figure out this one if someone can help i would appreciate it. thanks.
Should be a direct bolt in for the most part, transfer the harness from the old motor to the new and drive on. The OBD2 SI to R swap should be the easiest of all possible swaps.
Well what problems are you have? Whatever doesnt hook up directly swap out with your SI motor. Problem solved.
if you're running a JDM motor/ECU, you're going to have some extra plugs, this had been covered extensively, search for a thread by Katman
well i do have some plugs extra ..also one of the plugs for intake air temeprature does not even fit.. its not even long enough .. thats one of my concersns.. im going to start it pretty soon and see what happens.... just that one plug is bugning me the AIR INTAKE TEMPERATE SENSOR PLUG i found somehwere that it needs to be swaped with the JDM ITR Harness
alrite. just to clear it up we im going to do that with my air intake temperature plug.. the on the 99-00 harness will not plug into the intake air temperature sensor on the intake manifold. i have the plug from the jdm wiring harness but the colors of the wires are different then the colors on the si harness (intake air temperature plug on the 90-00 harness)... how do i know which wires go to which?

well for one
on your Si it had it on the intake tube.....if you don't wanna cut anything but plug it into the stock intake tube or whereever you had it before...if your bein uber gay and need it plugged into the mani where the R motor requires then, then lengthen the wires....its 2...and plug it in....the plug for the coolant temp sensor is the same kinda plug...so cut it off the R harness and wire it up...

Exactly what he said...You can either use the 99 SI air temp sensor and just leave the one on the ITR Manifold unplugged or cut and extend the wire to the manifold and change the plug since it's different. I'm actually doing the same thing by using to stock SI one without ANY problems!

Use the one on the intake manifold and not the air tube. The ECU uses the air temp to help set timing so, you probably want it to be as accurate as the factory intended.
I'm surprised too. My SI engine has the IAT on the intake manfold, cylinder #1.

I did this same exact swap into the same exact car and the only issue is that the si is obd2b where as the 98+spec tegy is obd2a...all you need is an ecu adapter
