Default car's blow off valve sounds different all of a sudden

94 honda civic cx
jdm d16a sohc vtec
t3/t4 turbo w/ front mount intercooler
universal blow off valve
rc550 cc injectors
external wastegate running at 5lb spring
basemap chip tune

here's my problem. i was driving home from a friend's house one night and everything works fine, but when i got home and left again about 3 hours afterwards my blow off valve sounds funny now. before it would have the quick *psh* noise. now it has the noise but softer and a lot longer. so now it would sound quiet and *psssssssshhhhhhhh.......* i check all my couplings for leaks and vacuum lines; they all look fine. so i dont know whats seem to be the problem so here i am on honda tech. any inputs would be great. thanks.

its not moving in or out. but up and down very very very little. hardly noticable. i believe this should be normal.

when you say universal bov, what style is it. Since you says pshhh noise and not a whistling sound, it is a mimic of the XS RFL? If so, you may need to put some oil or grease because it gets stuck.

Why would you take a BOV sound change and assume the turbo is crapping out? As long as he's at the same psi as before when closing the throttle, it shouldn't vary the sound. My guess is that the diaphram/o-ring that seals the vacuum port is shot. If its leaking there, the bov will move very slowly.

side to side play is acceptable to a point. In-out isnt at all.
