Compression check before break in ????
I recently rebuilt my engine because i blew a head gasket and so i replaced my head gasket and piston rings because they were burning oil..
Now i have maybe put about a 1/2 hour of running time on my motor and did a compression check and im getting 160 across the is this because my rings havent seated yet or is there something else wrong i had a leak down test done to my head and it was said to be normal..
Any suggestions..

Since you are getting 160 across the board, I would not worry about it. Your compression will increase once your rings have properly seated.
Did you test with a cold or hot motor? Did you fully open the throttle? Sometimes when you don't fully open the throttle you will get lower numbers.
Thats what i was thinking but the motor was hot but now i think i didnt have my foot holding down the gas pedal but i took the ecu fuse out under the hood..So i am going to try it again with my foot down on the gas and then hopfully when it broken in ill get better #'s..
Thanks guys for the posts..

Yeah--alot of times people post low but consistent numbers and they didn't open the throttle all the way. It does lower it on a plenum manifold but on ITBs or sidedraft carbs it cuts it in half. I forgot to open throttle on my carbs when doing a test once and I think I got around 120--fully open 255-260.
