Im pretty much set on the HKS hi power catback for my d16y8, will a generic 4-2-1 header make any difference in performance or just make it louder?

 

Well...its bigger than the stock manifold, so it wont hurt. I've actually heard good things about those cheap Megan Racing headers on ebay.

I wouldnt expect someone with almost 800 posts to be asking such a simple question.

 

ya i know i posted a lot of ****, but i have learned that the y8 has a pretty good header stock, also i was thinking about those cheap *** SS autochrome headers for $40 shipped.

Yeah, the manifold you have on there now isnt THAT bad for a stock part. Run a search on Megan Racing...you'd be surprised at some of the good things people have to say about them. They're a bit more than 40 bucks on ebay..but seriously not much more and it will NOT crack on you like the SS one will.

Seriously...do the search, you'll be surprised. I'm glad you arent trying to spend 500+ bucks on a bullshit single cam header. So you're already on the right track in my opinion.

Let us know what you decide on though, and your thoughts on it once its delivered. I'm really considering doing the same thing man.
