does a y7 oil pan fit on a y8block..?
does it fit..? im runnigna y7 tanny so the tranny brace thing doesent bother me.. will a nonvtec black pan fit on a d16y8 block...?
also will a z6 oil pump fit on a y8 block.. i ehard it flows more and im rebuilding from a spun rod bearing

I used a y8 pan in my Y7. I don't know about the 2nd question...bump for an answer

oil pans are the same, i used a y7 oil pan on my y8 i just rebuilt. the oil pickup was the same as well.
i think the z6 pump will bolt on and work but you wont have anywhere to put your oil dipstick. the hole for the dipstick tube on the d16y motors is on the oil pump and the d16a/z6 motors is on the block.

but remember that the Y8 is Alum and lighter than the steel Y7. Y8 will also radiate the heat better.
good info on the oil pumps. hmmm, i am rebuilding a Y8 too for spun bearings on the crank journal number 1. which bearing wnt bad? sorry for the thread jack...not really

ahh i forgot that. you can still use either the y7 or y8 on the y series motors though. thats the point i was getting at.
