Kumho Ecsta what? Ecsta is a line of tires, not a specific model. (ie. Ecsta SPT, Ecsta 711, Ecsta Supra 712, Ecsta MX, Ecsta ASX etc.)

Kumho makes a lot of tires with the Ecsta name on them. The most common ones are:

Kumho Ecsta SPT - excellent all-around summer tire
Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 - crappy summer tire
Kumho Ecsta 711 - even crappier summer tire
Kumho Ecsta MX - excellent summer tire on dry pavement (rapid treadwear though)
Kumho Ecsta V710 - excellent track tire
Kumho Ecsta AST - crappy all-season tire
Kumho Ecsta ASX - excellent all-season tire (although in moderate to warm temperatures, all-seasons don't perform as well as even crappy summer tires - that's the trade-off for being able to also use them on snow and in frigid cold)

They are a mediocre all-season tire. For a few bucks more, the Kumho ASX offers much better performance (although it's still an all-season tire, so it doesn't perform as well in moderate to warm temperatures as summer tires do).

I just ordered a set of Ecsta SPT's in 205/45-16. I'll let you know they work out.

i've been running the asx's for around 4 months now 204-45-16 and have had no problems at all. seem to grip well in corners, and with winter coming up i should be ok.
