instaling a radio in honda 96 civic
hey i am going to be putting my head unit in my 96 honda civic hx and i dont no how to pull it out is there some speacial way to pull it? or a web site with pics?
not really any special way... you just have to pull off the lower dash panel below the steering wheel then the glovebox and once you do that you can access the screws for the middle section and thats pretty much it.

Mine isn't even screwed it.
Though you'd never know b/c with the dim pocket it fits the hole perfectly, can't go in any further and you can't grab it, so you'd never know :-P.
Though I have a '95.

Yeah its very straightforward....
Just drop the lower panels under the steering wheel and open the glove box, so you can access the screws needed to take the lower panel off where the cigarette lighter is. After that...look up and you'll see two screws holding the climate control in place. After those two screws are out you can pull the climate control part out towards you as its only held in by a few clips.
Good luck...let us know if you have any other questions but trust me...once you get in there you'll see how easy it is.

also make sure you get the mounting bracket and harness for the deck as you can't really mount it without one. I got mine from crutchfield
Yeah it's a bit of pita just from having to remove all that stuff to do it but it's not too bad overall. The rear speakers are more of a pain imo.

Oh yeah...very true. I personally love Crutchfield. You pay a bit more than other online retailers but you get all the wiring harnesses and mounting kits that you'll need. They even give you master install sheets that guide you through the install just in case you need them.
But yeah...on top of your aftermarket deck you'll need a wiring harness and a mounting kit. They can both be bought at Wal Mart for about 18 dollars total for both. Good luck!
