Default quick question on how to drive with messed up synchros

my synchros for 3rd and 4th gear are messed up. i have a lot to fix on this car so please dont say 'get it fixed' i know. i will get some synchromesh as soon as i have money.anyways, 4th gear isnt as bad as third, where it grinds pretty bad when you go into it. it grinds REAL bad and mostly wont go in at all if i'm going fast. on normal driving though, if i'm in second, put the clutch in, rev to about 2.7-3k rpms and put it in it wont grind. my question is, which one of these ways would be the easiest on my transmission?

1. sitting there riding the clutch trying to perfectly catch that small window to not grind at 3k rpms
2. just using first and second gear and thats it
3. using first and second gear and just speed up quickly then just put it in neutral and coast
4. use first gear and second gear, get up to higher speed and just go straight into 5th

i know none of these are good things to do, and its a brand new clutch so i dont want to wear it out quickly...

how do you fix synchros anyways without that mesh? just get a new transmission?

You prwetty much already answered your own question.

^^I concur, 1-2-5 can work most of the time but you will almost always have to use 3&4 sometime. Time to replace them.

Either #4 or run a Google search on "double clutching"

Double clutch it. It's what they did before the days of syncros.

+1 more for double clutch...

I have to double clutch to get into 5th....

basicly just push the clutch in, pull out of gear, let clutch halfway out, push clutch back in, put in new gear, let clutch out...sometimes it helps to give it a little gas durning the halfway out part.
