My car has to be in safe mode, feels like the timing is retarded, very hard pickup until 3000rpms, then cuts out at 5000rpm , like almost like a fuel cutout or possibly rev limit, any help would be greatly appreciated guys..im new to here

 

Is the CEL (check engine light) on? If yes, check it to see what code(s) is being thrown. If you need help on that, look at the very top of this forum for a sticky that has that info.

 

no CEL, only SRS light on, someone said bad distributor possibly..?

 

at this point your just guessing..... Buy a MultiMeter and the Haynes manual and start Probing....

The Haynes manual will bring you through testing all the sensors and give all of their values...

If you can get your hands on a Vaccume guage that will help too....

Timing light will also help

 

just cause the light isn't on doesn't mean it's not throwing a code...

if you're in limp mode you most likely are, just gap the plug and check to make sure...
