save the block, rods, and crank, rockers and cam. everything else is garbage.

or use 4 throttlebodies to make ITBs

Bolt ons will not help that engine. Tranny is no good. The best thing you can do is boost and tune.

you don't want to bore/hone ?.. you wanna reuse a head gasket, and you bought a vx engine and have no clue what so ever what you're doing.

find a new hobby.

what vehicle are you putting the motor into? do you plan to race the car or just use it for a daily driver? Depending on your budget you can do a lot, but the VX motor isn't the best foundation to build power on...

Use this compression calculator to tell what your expected compressions are if you're going to be changing heads and pistons and ****.

Might wanna use a D16 block, but that's your call. Like bense said, the parts are still good off the VX tranny, but it's not the best platform for a big setup.

What are your plans? Daily driver? Weekend driver?

What are your horsepower goals?

What is your budget to work with?

Will a D16Z6 aftermarket header fit the D15Z1 block?

Also, Will the D16Z6 Intake manifold fit on the D15Z1 head? Thanks a bunch for those trying too help!

wtf is all this negative comments. A y8 head will bolt up to your block, and will require a little drilling and wiring. Also just get a y8 exhaust manifold it should help. Then you could always get some diffeternt pistons to swap in and raise your compression, but if im not mistaken the y8 head will already raise the compression. Props on building a D series man.

zex 75 wet shot is like $500 and you don't have to take apart your engine. **** maybe you can even hit 200mph with the VX tranny if you have enough nitrous

sorry bense, i dont know that much. I just knew that the Y8 has a smaller combustion chaber then other D series and figured it would raise the compresion. Thanks for clearing that up.

Run 5lbs tuned w/ a DSM SMIC.

Good for 130 or so at the wheels. You'll dick whip all the stock I/H/E Z6's & Y8's 'n ****.
