Question about D series and minime...
A friend has a stock 93 DX (D15B7) that needs work. He wants to upgrade but can't afford a B series swap on his budget. As I am more knowlegable on the B series, I need some input from those D series gurus. Will the Si/Ex head (D16Z6) from the same gen of civic bolt up to his D15 block? Is this what is referred to as a minime? If this does bolt on, what else would need to be done besides adding some wires for vtec? What type of hp/tq gains and other issues should he expect? Any help is appreciated.

Re: Question about D series and minime... (saber1)
It'll work fine, and produce about 110-115whp pseudo-tuned I believe, I know that a D16A6/D16Z6(or Y8) produces about 122whp. (so long as you use the Z6 or Y8 intake manifold). I don't have a link for you right this second on how it's done, but if you goto d-series.org they have a few dozen write-ups on this common mini-me swap.

Re: (Deemeetree)
You need the head, wire in vtec, and a P28. As ^ mentioned, its been covered a billion times and a search would have yeilded the answer even faster.
